When the relationship ended, one of the deepest losses was the friendships I had begun to build with his circle. In Adelaide and Sydney, I had felt welcomed, connected, and excited to see those bonds grow. What had started as genuine, joyful connections quickly turned into disappointment, as I realized those relationships would now remain unfinished.
This painting depicts a single sardine being pulled from a tin, a symbol of how I felt suddenly plucked away from friendships that had just begun to take shape.
