This painting reflects on my time in Austin, about two years after moving here. The city’s energy, nature, and community have been healing, easing mental health struggles I once felt more strongly in Chicago. Still, moments of despair arise which I've realized is just part of life. The cowboy may be crying, but he is content to be where he is.
